And that does not mean you need to drop out.

Do they have an engaged audience? Comments are an excellent sign but pay close attention to quality – a lot of spam comments are a white flag.
Do they reply to comments? This is an indicator that the blog owner cares about engaging with their audience, and the blog is physically active.
Do they adequately share their personal content? In case they don’t place time into sharing their own content, they likely won’t spend time which is much sharing yours.
Does my ideal audience align with this particular blog? You have to have an “ideal audience” that you want to reach, and also the blogs you contribute to must speak to that exact same audience.
Do they offer writers credit & a link to their blog/landing site inside an author bio? You will set a great deal of effort into composing content, so the least you should get is a byline with a link back to your site.
Do they have the possibility to drive visitors or are there too many distractions? Too many distractions could mean they won’t refer as much traffic as a blog site with an ultra-clean layout.
